Hot Air Balloon Ride in Siem Reap, my new favourite activity!

This week, I experienced my first hot air balloon ride with Cambodia Balloon Adventures. It was AMAZING! Flying high over the beautiful Cambodian countryside at sunrise is something I will never forget. I have lived in Siem Reap for 10 years and it’s one of the best things I have ever done here.

Actual footage from our flight!

It’s an early start, leaving town at around 5am to drive to the balloon. On arrival you are welcomed with a (much needed) coffee or tea and fresh croissants whilst they inflate the balloon. This is an experience in itself, watching the balloon come to life whilst the sun rises! Then it’s time to fly!

Every flight is different depending on the wind that day but we flew over some stunning countryside very close to Banteay Samre temple and we could also see Pre Rup, the barays, Kulen mountain, Phnom Krom and even Angkor Wat in the very far distance! We also landed next to a school which was amazing, the kids went crazy!
