3 of our favourite family-friendly hotels in Siem Reap
Visiting Siem Reap with kids? Here is our tried and tested list of the best hotels for kids of all ages.
3 years old and under: Treeline Urban Resort
At first glance, this perhaps isn’t the most obvious family-friendly Siem Reap hotel however having stayed here recently with our two-year old, we were really impressed. Things we loved:
Having a room on the same level as the pool and bar makes it so easy to come and go from the room. You’d need to request this in advance.
We loved the location, its so easy to walk out with a stroller to explore the local neighbourhood or go for a wander along the pretty riverside.
Although the hotel isn’t huge there is plenty of space for a toddler. Our daughter loved the elephant statues and the big courtyard to run around in.
Free snacks (banana chips etc) in the room are perfect for when the toddler munchies set in.
Good quality high chairs and cots mean your little ones are well looked after.
Rooms from USD 170 per night, find out more and book here.
3 - 12 year olds: Navutu Dreams Resort
Navutu is a sprawling tropical playground for kids of all ages. Owned by two Italian sisters, both with kids of their own, Navutu welcomes guests with a warm and informal atmosphere. Navutu highlights:
Three pools…the kids might never want to leave! Salt water and fresh water, deep and shallow, they’ve got the post-temple swim covered.
Meandering tropical gardens bursting with tropical plants and flowers. The ultimate setting for a mega game of hide and seek!
Interconnecting rooms and two-bedroom suites (all with private gardens) offer the ideal accommodation for when your kids are big enough to be in their own room but you still need them close by.
Located slightly out of town, kids will love the 10 minute tuk tuk ride to get into town through the countryside, looking for cows and chickens along the way.
Little ones will love the kids menu and wood-fired pizzas. One of the family activities available is “Build your own pizza”.
Rooms from USD 115 per night, find out more and book here.
Teenagers: Phum Baitang
A green tropical oasis modelled on a Cambodian village (Phum = village / Baitang = green), this property is spacious enough to keep even the biggest of kids entertained. What we love:
Cambodian countryside experience complete with water buffalo and paddy fields, kids can even take part in rice harvesting activities.
The villas are vast! Extra beds can be arranged (up to 2 kids per room) or for teenagers wanting their own space, book 2 villas. Although it’s worth bearing in mind that each one is an individual unit.
The huge pool is ideal for teens with plenty of space to play without disrupting other guests.
The whole family will love zipping around the resort by bicycle.
Don’t miss the amazing Phare Circus, just 10 minutes away. No animals are involved, it’s more like a low budget Cirque du Soleil and the nightly performances are exhilarating.
Rooms from USD 445 per night, find out more and book here.
What we also love about all three of these hotels is that they are all doing their best to reduce plastic waste and offer sustainable alternatives to their guests. Something we think is so important for our kids to learn too!
Looking for evening entertainment? Our Taste For A Good Cause tour is the most popular option with families. High chairs are available as well as gardens to run around in. Each restaurant is informal and also provides an opportunity to teach kids about helping others and giving back to the local community when you are travelling.
